    Bankruptcy vs Consumer proposal for sponsoring spouse ?

    Hi All: I understand if someone has a record of Bankruptcy (R-9) can not sponsor his/her spouse for the next 7 years!! How about if someone does file for "Consumer Proposal" (R-8), can he/she be eligible for sponsoring spouse ?? PLEASE share your knowledge on this issue.
