Hello,
We are planning to move to South Surrey, BC from Texas next year. We are planning to move around summer but the public school deadlines are around February. How do we provide residency proof to get into a good school when our lease would potentially begin in July/August and we haven't finalized the apartment/house.

We don't know anyone that lives in that area as of now. Any advise on possible options from someone who has been through the process would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Bring your child to the catchment school when school starts in September and see if there are places. If no available, they will recommend another school. Check the school district website for details.

Thanks! Do you'll know by when should we register to guarantee a spot in the catchment school. Don't want to wait till September and be asked to go to a school that's far away. If we enroll in April or May would that be early enough. I called the school and they gave a very generic answer that didn't help much.

Thanks again.

Again, it's subject to availability. You can try to enrol the kid in April or May to see the outcome. Good luck!
