Hi
my name is Alex I applied for a business visa to attend a trade mission to Canada and got refused on the grounds:
*I am not satisfied that you have a legitimate business purpose in Canada.

*I am not satisfied that you have sufficient funds, including income or assets, to carry out your stated purpose in coming to Canada or to maintain yourself while in Canada and to effect your departure.

*I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence.

*I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on your personal assets and financial status.

You are welcome to reapply if you feel that you can respond to these concerns and can demonstrate that your situation meets the requirements. All new applications must be accompanied by a new processing fee.

I disagree to all the stated reason and will like to know if I can write a letter to respond to the decision they took and if possible appeal to it.
When I made the application I provided them with all the necessary documents to support my application as they requested.
I provided the my personal Bank statement and company statement, my own company document, letter from other company I work for, Letter from my company as well, my property documents, Marriage certificate, children birth cert, company income tax clearance cert, Hotel reservation and ticket itinerary showing my returned date. I also provided them with my travel experience stamps and visas expired and current US B1 visa with 4 years expiration, in all my travels I have never overstayed in any of my stay, so I don't understand the reason of refusal. and will like help to settle this or to clear the doubt or assumption they had on me.
any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks

Regards

Alex

Going by the refusal reasons, the info you provided in your application, including the supporting docs, are too weak or not convincing enough that you will leave Canada at the end of the trip.
If you appeal, or make a make a new application as suggested, you’d need new info and docs to strengthen your case.
If you rely on what you’ve already submitted, or there’s little change to them, you’ll be refused again.

There is no appeal process, only a judicial review and that takes cubic dollars. Do you have any business transactions with Canadian companies? PO's. invoices, transaction records, e-mail exchanges? How about an invitation letter from a Canadian client or business partner? Have you travelled for the same purpose to other countries?

I am a member of the International trade council and the chairperson is the ambassador to Canada, I also promote and import Netsafety inc. product in Ghana. I have friends in Canada as well. I have invitation for the event as the trade mission to Canada i included in my application. I have trade to other business conferences in other countries like Switzerland, Turkey, China, Dubai, France transit visa and USA. I presented all these Evidence but not my friends address because that was not the purpose of my visit and he was even aware of my application or visit.

Often time, some of the reasons for refusal are not officially disclosed, like inconsistencies or untruthfulness in the forms and docs that are surfaced by background checks.

Additionally, applicants from countries considered high risk (high refusal rate historically) are subjected to more stringent checks and closer scrutinies, where the benefit of the doubt is rarely exercised. Many are not aware of this. Google the countries concerned.

I’m not implying that you fit the above profile, but that someone with your professional standing and financial means could still be refused a visa, as experienced by many others with more substantial credentials and resources.

Your best recourse would be to reapply, but note that the standard of proof of whatever you say in the forms and documentary evidence is far much higher than that of a first time applicant.

The said proof has to be “beyond reasonable doubt” to establish that you’re a genuine visitor and that you’re both able and willing to return home after you’re done.

“Beyond reasonable doubt,” among others, can entail providing more detailed info and additional docs to be attested or authenticated by a notary public. It all depends on how willing are you in going the extra mile.

Good luck.

Be guided by the refusal reasons, particularly the one on the “legitimate business purpose in Canada.”
Since your financial standing was questioned, it would help to authenticate bank statements, title deeds to assets etc to remove the doubts raised.

Good morning and thanks for you response, please i will like to know your views on this message I received from the ITC Association which I indicated earlier that I am a member please find below the info:
NOTE ON VISAS TO CANADA
It should be noted that while rejections are not common they do occur - sometimes for reasons which are a total mystery to our staff. We have found that if the reason given by Canada Immigration is along the lines of "failure to have a legitimate reason to visit Canada" then this is their 'default' standard for a rejection and tends to mean a variety of things - in some instances it could be that your company history is not long enough, insufficient travel history to other countries, insufficient ties to the company [could not prove employment for X period of time in the company via third-party sources, the services offered by the company are unclear from public [external] records, the ownership of the company is unclear etc".

As noted in the terms and conditions of the trade mission there are no refunds for late visa refusals (those refused after 10th April 2019). This is because the above expenses are already incurred by the Council for your organization and said expenses are non-transferrable.

If your visa is refused you have two options:

a. You re-apply for your visa.

Visa approval / declining decisions are usually made at a local Embassy level while reviews are done in Canada itself. The Council would supply a new letter of invitation, get in touch with the Canadian Government Trade Commissioner Service (again) and request a review in Ottawa (Canada) but we have no statistics for.
will like to know your views on getting in touch with the Canada Government Trade Commissioner Service and requesting for a review? will appreciate your views Thanks.

I HAVE JUST BEEN REFUSED VISA TO ATTEND A CONFERENCE IN CANADA AND THIS IS THE ONLY REASON AS WRITTEN ON THE REFUSAL LETTER • I am not satisfied that you have a legitimate business purpose in Canada. SO WHAT COULD POSSIBLY BE THE REASON FOR THAT, AND THE POSSIBILITY OF POSITIVE DECISION IF I CHOOSE TO APPEAL IT?

Sorry to hear that. When did you apply and what country did you apply from? Also was the event registered with IRCC?
