Hi Qorax Correct me if I am wrong, if you are a returning landed immigrant (landed some months before, returned to home country, back again to live), then the only option would be international travel insurance as the in-Canada ones are only possible within the very first days after landing...

It all depends on how fast your security checks are cleared which in turn depends on how many countries you have lived in before, what jobs you have held etc, but give it something between 1 and 6 months.

Qorax, a friend of mine has a scholarship from Japan (non-taxable in Japan) while living in Canada. The money is being deposited into her Japanese account and spent using her Japanese credit card in Canada. Will that be taxable in Canada? Thanks

Even if the older photos are not ok, the officer may not simply tell you. My advice is to prepare new photos taking into consideration all specifications and upon landing give them to the officer and ask him/her to use these for PRCs.

Adding to Leon, another thing is that your PR application might get stuck due to your photos being rejected. In That case they might ask you to submit the new photos in person which can be a hassle if you are not in Canada.
