LA mailed my passport back yesterday by overnight mail, so it should be waiting for me when I get home today. It took exactly 5 weeks from the time they received the passports. My family plans to drive to the border at Coutts this weekend to complete our landing.

They started processing my file Aug 2. Also, I sent them an address update last week, I don't know if that brought attention to my file.

You cannot use AVR unless you have your actual H1B document in hand. I had the same situation and I had to pay the $1,000 to fast track my H1B renewal.

Like someone suggested, use rentfaster. I haven't gone apartment hunting yet, as we are staying with friends, but I have seen some good houses on that site. Yes I am. In the NW area.
