when you do file for the OWP, can I suggest you use the online option. The processing time for that is 18 days - its 54 if you send threw the mail. You will have to do the medical first, as a forum from the is attached to your OWP application as well as 2 immigration (not passport) sized...

You should find out what the schools refund policy is. It unlikely that you will be able to start classes anytime soon. They will probably be able to secure your funds until a later date when you are able to go to school. Or if the course is wait listed for domestic students, they can...

My husband and I waited until the 6 mth mark before getting his done........ I didn't want to risk it becoming expired while things were processing. We are now at almost 7 mths and nothing is happening with the progession of the CIC website - so I think it was a good decision :)
