    Married with US permanent resident

My suggestion: 1- Apply US citizenship when it is possible 2- Wait for the interview for the US citizenship 3- Get Marry 4- Sponsor her to Canada.

    Married with US permanent resident

In her US citizenship application, application to another permanent residency in a different country may bring some questions. It may not be an issue, or it may be. Especially if she moves to Canada to live with you during this stage, she can even lose her green card if she crosses the US border...

Calculating Residency: what counts as a day in Canada?

If a person stays with relatives while his/her primary residency is outside of Canada, does those days count as a part of fulfilling the PR card residency requirements (2 out 5 years); how about for the citizenship? Thanks.

Waiting for PR Card after landing - add your case here

No you definitely don't lose your PR status. For some reason, first officer told me before sending me to the 2ndary, he is gonna admit me as visitor and thus will not count against 2 years. He marked the customs document as visitor. I m not still sure if I will able to use that day or not. He...

Waiting for PR Card after landing - add your case here

Budget and Avis, and Hertz. No Enterprise usually. Couple more rental companies may let you take their vehicle to Canada. 1 way rental from US to CA is going to be expensive. Licence plates have nothing to do, it was used to be more important, looks like not anymore.

Waiting for PR Card after landing - add your case here

Those of you who are visa exempt countries and will try to cross the border without PR card; couple suggestions, as I did that 3 times already using both land borders and airports: 1- You may or you may not have problems depending on the officer, there is a lot of subjectivity on their...

Waiting for PR Card after landing - add your case here

No it was the first officer who took my customs form and put 0 on top of it. 2nd officer in secondary actually didn't question anything, put a stamp on my passport with PR written. So I'm confused if that day counted or not. Thanks for the reply.

Waiting for PR Card after landing - add your case here

I had the misfortune of two times entering Canada without PR card because of all these delays. Both of them was at Ottawa Airport. First time wasn't an issue, coming from the US. The agent was nice, quickly found out my record, and let me enter. 2nd time was an big issue, coming from the...

Landing from U.S ( I94 needs to be unchanged)

Nope, it doesn't with AVR. Point of case happened to my family a month ago. No record of I94 showing exit and entrance. If you are not familiar with AVR process, please don't comment on it. I didn't say you cannot get admitted with AVR. But your I94 remains same (when it was paper), and no...

Landing from U.S ( I94 needs to be unchanged)

1 - There is a lot of information on this issue on forums, please refer to them for further info. But in short, you can be fine entering Canada with your own car, but don't be surprised to pushed to import right away even though you can visit with your own car. Better to drive a rental car, and...

    POF after Medical Request

Hi All, My brother has been requested for Medical exam and RPRF as of now. Is it ok to move POF to more risky investments, let's say in stock exchange etc right now? If they ask again POF( proof of funds), he can put that money back into bank deposits? He had much more than the requested...

    sponsored ex husband

You have a daughter from him, unless your new husband adopts her; having a daughter from him easily can be proven. You don't make a kid for the sake of immigration fraud. I don't think there should be an issue.
