I've been here since the fall of 2011, so I'm not all that new, but what I noticed first that I liked a lot was the way the city is laid out (Montreal). It's built with people in mind, parks everywhere, large streets, lots of green, lots of open spaces, and not to mention the constant events and...

So, it went well. I tried to just go straight to Immigration on the Canadian side, not to have to drive our of Canada, but that didn't work LOL. They asked me to go with the car through the US booths, and then make a U-turn back to the Canadian booths. So I did that, the Canadian booth guy gave...

Oh wow, that sucks.. they've crewed something up, or just did not tell you they needed something else like they did with us...

:o I got the COPR in the mail today. I cannot get over how uneventful it is once you get it ... we wait for so long and then one day you come out to walk the dog and there is it, a simple beige envelope, and it's all over, you're done! I haven't even found a way to get excited like I expected...

I requested the electronic version of the sponsorship file. What you get is basically a print out of their custom CRM (customer relationship management software). It's not a narative and you have to "read" over it a few times to get a picture of what is actually hapenning with your file :)

Here is the form: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/form-imm5563.asp I emailed it and it took a month to get the email report back, but it was very useful. That is how we found out that my hubs PM card delays were holding my process back, and that they have a "further information and...

Yes i've noticed your long wait.. it's so weird. We were late for 2 reasons, my hubs had issues with renewing his PR card. It took a year where it should have taken a couple of months, but him not having a valid pr card paused our process. And then number 2, we had sent them a CD with pics which...

One Spouse Becomes an American While The Other Becomes Canadian?

I was wondering, how does a US sitizen living in Canada with a PR card proove how many days they have been in the country since we are visa exempt? I live in Montreal with my husband but travel back to the States quite often. While I keep my own spreadsheet with those dates, I cannot help but...

:P FINALLY THE PPR ARRIVED TODAY !!!!! :P :P :P :P As I was sitting on the comp dealing with my emails, the CIC message popped up so innocently that I could not register what I'm seeing for a second... but then it hit me and I screamed so suddenly my dog freaked out and ran out of the room...

I actually printed the pictures at a photo place already, so will leave them with the paper clips and sticky notes. Thanks.

Hi everyone, Is it true that we should not staple documents and use paper clips in the materials that we send to CIC? I think I remember reading something like that somewhere. However, I'm not sure how to organize the photos if I don't use paper clips or something else. But if for example...
