Canada does ask for placement fees.. Most (real) agencies will not accept caregivers from the PHILS. The process time is 18-24 months. An employer often will not wait that long. Also, the employer will need to sign the POEA agreement saying they will pay travel expenses. Most employers wont do...

Dont pay anything until you get your LMO and all docuements required for your visa. The fees overseas are ridiculous! They usually pay the agency in Canda who find the employer about 10% and keep the 90% for doing nothing. You can always do a direct hire..and do the papers yourself. Post an ad...

Caregivers from the PHILS take 18-24 months and the POEA. Many caregivers go to HK and work first as the process time is as little as 8-12 weeks. Good luck

you need to have one year expereince working and residing in HK to apply to canada from HK. HK is frequently used as a stepping stone to come to canada from PHILS as it is virtually impossible to get here from PHILS.

I work for a caregiver recruitment agency in Ontario. We have placed many applicants over the years. All have been happy with us and we keep in touch with many of the caregivers and their the families we have worked with. We charge a fee (very small compared to most less then 1500$ and only 500$...

From my experience they have always called the employer. I always call the employer in advance and let them know that they will be calling. They normally calll from Vancouver which is the most common point of entry. I am not sure what would happen if they arrived and they called the employer...

You don't need to have a child to apply. I had an employer who was pregnant and didn't need the caregiver right away. Her LMO was approved and the caregiver arrived 5-6 months later.

Live in caregiver wage is diff than the standard min wage. It has gone up from 9.25 to 10$ per hour. Many people thought it was 9.50$ but it is actually 10$ I double and triple checked as I have nanny and wanted to make sure I was paying the correct wage. Thanks

I called HRSDC just last week and they told me a new one was not needed. Perhaps they changed the rules, yet again.
