    Accompanying family member

Hi there: I'll do my landing tomorrow and will bring my son with me into Canada. My son (1 year old) was born in Canada and he's a Canadian citizen. I wonder if he's considered to be an accompanying member or not? On my COPR it says that I have no accompanying member. Thanks

    landing

Hi: I'll be landing tomorrow. Can somebody tell me if I'll become Canadian PR right after landing? Will they give me some written documentation confirming that I am a PR while waiting for the PR card? Thanks

    Language Tests can be exempted?

Hi border9999: If they ask you to take IELTS then you have to do it. The reason, i guess, is because the total point when you add up everything including education, work exp, ..., and "High" english language proficiency is very close to the pass-mark. I ticked "high" on all my English skills...

    Advice on bank statements

Why do you need a 4-month statement? If they don't ask you to submit a 4-month statement then a 1-month statement should be good. I only sent CIC a 1-month statement and didn't have any problem.

    First Immigration Application or IELTS???

Hi vishs: I'm sure if you don't submit anything as a proof of your language ability (either a letter or IELTS) the application will be returned to you within a month even if you grew up in an English speaking country like US or UK. This is what have happened to lots of ppl I know. If you don't...

    First Immigration Application or IELTS???

    1) You have to submit the language ability proof with the application. Otherwise the application will be returned to you. 2) Two cases might happen: i) they'll give fewer points than you expected or ii) ask you to take IELTS. The second case will delay your application for a few months until...

    First Immigration Application or IELTS???

No IELTS is NOT a must. As it reads from CIC website (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/factor-language.asp) there are two options: (1) take a language test or (2) provide other written proof of your abilities. Instead of taking IELTS you can write a letter explain how good your...
