Hi Everyone

Are they allowing daily land commute between US to Canada for people who work in US and live in Canada? The reason I ask is they e-mailed indicating there's a 14 day quarantine, so does that apply to only the first time? And from 15th day, you can travel daily between borders? Technically, you will still be crossing borders so isn't that contradictory?

My situation- I am planning for initial landing with my COPR in 2 weeks from now via road(Windsor), and then after that start commuting daily Canada-US-Canada because I can only work from U.S per my company data policies. Will daily commute be allowed? Is it after just 1 14-day quarantine?

Thank you

Hello

Thank you for replying. Helped with my anxiety!

Yes! Eerie how similar our cases are and the timelines of course! Just like you, I too was too optimistic and did not avail the courier service either. I hate this limbo! Fingers crossed for the first week of July.

Re the counterfoil being valid till October, when I got an update from CIC I checked my account. The final decision was taken on 21 March (approved) It shows the document - counterfoil as valid. The date shown was for October. So I gathered that this counterfoil is valid till October. Tried sharing a screenshot here, but I am not sure how exactly to do that!

Regards
HEy,, I am also sailing in the same boat.. got ppr on 11th and got copr on 21st March,, and passports are still stucked at vfs

Hello, are there any updates on the SIN number? Did anyone receive it while applying online? I read about rejections and it seems that the proof of address from airbnb is not something they would accept online?

Hi Swack,

Since you have mentioned F1, i want to ask will there be any issue traveling to Canada and coming back on F1, with the current executive order by the president? I am on my f1 Visa with copr expiring on July 29th.

Regards,
Vivek
There isn't any news for travel ban on F1 visa. It's only for H, L and J Type visas.

What exactly is the issue with airbnb address with respect to SIN and PR Card (or even for bank account)? Can anybody please explain that.
Long before the lockdowns and pandemic, I thought airbnb is the best option even for longer term stays if you can find a good stay until you are sure you can and should afford a rent or lease agreement.

Hello

I'm sorry I missed this, else would have replied sooner! Thank you for replying. Trust you are well.

It is yet to reach VFS. It says it is in transit (not sure how to understand if it is in transit from the High Commission to VFS). I did not avail courier service so can pick it up only when VFS opens I guess. Wish if there was a facility to let them know that I have changed my mind and would now prefer to have it couriered! But well!

Good luck and good day!

Regards
I'm in the same situation. My passport is at the VFS from what was last communicated to me. Althought my application got approved just before the travel restriction date, I couldn't collect it. Didn't apply for courier service but I know from the SMS, email and when I login to my application. Tried contacting them to check if they can still courier it but can't remember if I even got an automated response.

Hi Guys, Please help is there any sample for asking the extension. or below inquirey will work?

Earlier I had mentioned that I was unable to reach in Canada before my COPR expiration date which was 11 June 2020 due to Lock down and international flight suspension in India . Presently, Air India is operating international flights and other international flights are going to start soon. So I am prepared to travel again. Thus, I request you to extend my visa so that I can reach Canada.

This looks fine. You just need to make it clear that you are ready to travel but I would still suggest to wait for opening of borders properly and not banking on rescue flights, if its not urgent to land in Canada.

Hi All

I'm stuck in Dubai since mid March, I was transit. Since I have family here it was not a big hassle, though my COPR expired mid May. Since regular flights are going from Dubai to Toronto I had written to NDVO that I'm ready to travel and to send us the further steps. Following response received from NDVO.

"" If your counterfoil expires, you do not need to email us as you will receive communication from our office on the next steps to be taken once full-service resumes. At present we would not be able to provide you any other information.

Please be advised that if you cannot travel to India, once the next steps are determined, further procedure can be done in the country where you are staying.

Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the Migration Section at the High Commission of Canada in New Delhi will be limiting its operations until further notice. The Migration Sections at the Consulate in Bangalore and the Consulate in Chandigarh are closed until further notice.""

I believe that we will get instructions from NDVO when Canada is ready to receive is again. There is no point sending any webform.

Dear all, I have an expiring COPR and we want some inputs and guidance from you. There are three options for us. Request you to please let us know which one should we go for

Background and Context – we are a family of 3. I am the primary application. My application also includes my wife and my son who is 1 year old. All of us are Indian nationals currently residing in Dubai. Our PR visa is valid until 11th July 2020 and Dubai has just started opening up flights and airports. We are not looking to settle in Canada immediately given that finding jobs may be a challenge in the current economic scenario. We are evaluating three options to land in Canada and I am looking for your opinion and feedback. In May 2020, we had already filled up a webform and informed CIC that we will not be able to travel prior to July 2020. CIC had given a generic response asking us to inform them when we are ready to travel

Option 1: All three members of the family travel from Dubai before 11th of July. Only issue is maintaining health and safety of everyone, especially the 1-year old kid. He doesn’t wear masks, touches and licks everything and we are so concerned about how to manage him on the 15 hour long flight

Option 2: Only the primary applicant travels to Canada prior to 11th July and gets his PR status activated. Once COVID-19 situation improves, we can get fresh PCC certificates for the wife, get new medicals done and submit it to CIC. Then CIC will issue new COPR for wife and son enabling them to travel by year end 2020. The challenge here is getting the new PCC from India (where the COVID-19 situation is quite bad). We don’t want to travel to Delhi until year end, but there is no other way of getting a PCC. The old PCC from India is from Apr 2018, whereas we moved to Dubai in 2019, so old PCC will not work

Option 3: Only the primary applicant travels to Canada prior to 11th July and gets his PR status activated. If the wife and son are unable to land in 2020, they will lose the opportunity to get a PR through the current application. Then we will have to apply for family class visa for the wife and son when we decide to move to Canada finally. I will be a PR holder and will need to sponsor my wife and son. The only challenge is that CIC may ask us as to why did we lose the opportunity to convert a COPR into a PR back in 2020
