also, if the intended program is lower than the previous study, malaki po chance ng sp rejection. so, with a bachelor’s background, make sure po na post grad certificate or ms ang kukunin. unless po na ang previous study ay totally different sa current work experience gaya po ng sa case ko. took up aero eng back in the 90s but worked ever since in IT. kaya po na apporove ako for diploma program in computer technician.
I see, I'll probably end up taking a 2nd course para 2 yrs study. My counselor from AMS said that its better to take up a course that is related to my bachelor's. I was supposed to get the HRM equivalent in Canada which is Hotel Operations Mgt for 2 years but my counselor said that they might ask and wonder why would I take up the same course and that is not a good chance. So I decided that I'll take up Culinary Skills then Baking and Pastry Arts after if my budget permits. I'm sticking to my industry. Anyways, i'll let you know how it goes.

P.S

What I would do after I get my SP is to get my credentials(i.e my TORs) evaluated by WES since 5 years ang Validity nya kase one of the requirements un sa PR if I want a high score.

Thank you for your reply.

Although, marami po na PR pagdating dito ay iba ang work kesa sa dating field nila para maka survive lang for the first few months or first year.

Thanks sa reply and explanation!

SOP key points:
  • My background: Took up Aeronautical Engineering in college but work experience for the past 22 years are solid IT (from systems and network administration to software/application development and project management)
  • Objective: What I plan to achieve. Why I want to study in Canada
  • Why Canada: Less expensive than other countries such as AU, NZ or USA. Great peace and order situation. Multicultural.
  • Why Durham College and UOIT: I only applied at DC and UOIT so i was able to highlight their qualities.
  • Career progression: How my intended program will help in my future career growth in my home country
  • Declaration: that I will abide by all the conditions, rules and regulation of the SP should I be approved. That I intend to finish my program the soonest possible time and go back to my home country. That, should my SP be revoked by IRCC, I will leave Canada immediately.
nag shift din po ako ng field from my previous education. at kahit po bachelors ang dati ko academic, since IT po ang work experience ko, ay na-approve po ako for a 2-yr diploma program.

Wow thank you so much po!!
Bakit po both Durham and UoIT ay mentioned?
Also, okay lang po kaya na wala pa ko masyadong work experience? Kaka-grad ko lang kasi last year.
