Thank you so much for getting back to me! I will do the same as you then. I find it strange that I have to send these documents again though.... I already send a copy of the receipt, 2 photos and a passport copy with the original application to CPC Mississauga. Perhaps the Mississauga office doesn’t send the physical file over to Vienna for processing and that’s why they don’t have the documents.

Hello,

My husband’s application was also processed in Mississauga and we have now just received the PPR letter – asking for us to send the passport or passport copy to Vienna via courier to complete the process. My husband is Dutch and doesn’t require a visa to enter Canada, just an ETA, so I think we will just send a copy of his passport to the Vienna office.

Can you please let me know what you ended up doing? Did you send the passport or just a photocopy?

Thanks so much!

Jennifer
I just have a question for you how did you figure out if your documents were processed in Mississauga? mine have been processing in Vienna for 3 months almost so id like to see If I could make a complaint or figure out a solution to get the processed there aswell since Vienna is just wasting everyones time..
thanks in advance.

There is no way after your application is transferred to Vienna it will stay there till it's finalized. How many months has it been since you submitted your application?

Hi there! It seems to me like they just want you to confirm that your contact details (your email, phone number, mailing address) are up to date, so if it’s changed from when you first applied to just update them/let them know, and if those details haven’t changed to confirm to them/tell them the contact details are still the same and up to date. That’s what it seems like to me at least if you’re still confused about it, it would be worth it to clarify with them when you send all the documents they requested if they need anything else.

I sent in a formal comment/complaint regarding my concerns.

I understand that they have a certain order to things, however I believe that it is unfair that some of us have had our applications forwarded to the VO months ago and we have no movement, and some people who had their applications forwarded to them AFTER ours are now in the final stages while we are still waiting. As happy as I am for the select few which have the opportunity to be united with their loved ones so quickly... I am selfish when it comes to this topic, and I feel that it should be done “first come first serve”

They state that they process applications in the order in which they receive them, but in practice this might not always be the case.

I can imagine that the VO would not hold up all applications if one gets stuck at a certain stage, just to process them in order. For example, if someone's background check with police and intelligence agencies is going to take longer because of a more complex history, I don't believe the VO would suspend processing other cases while they wait for results to come in.

Or what if the VO requests more information from one person and gives them 30 days to supply it? I doubt that they will stop processing all other cases while they wait up to 30 days to get that information for the one case that came in first.

I'm sure that when it comes to starting to process applications once they are received from Mississauga it is done in order in which they are received. But, as every application is different it will take some longer than others to process and some who arrived later will be processed sooner. It seems to me to be the most efficient way of doing things.
