Has anyone here needed to get RCMP fingerprints while being in DR. My husband was in Canada for over 6 months and we just got asked for fingerprints. Not really sure how we go about it and what would be the best place to get them done. Thanks in advance!

They have to be done in canada. Is your husband able to come to canada to get them done? This will be the only way

I heard you can get them done at a police station in DR and send them to an accredited company in canada who sends them to the RCMP, but if thats not the case I guess I will have to get my husband a Visitor Visa.

You might be able to do this. To get a RCMP, they just need your electronic fingerprints. You will need to find either an accredited company that takes electronic fingerprints or one that can convert ink fingerprints to electronic fingerprints. I don't know if there are companies that do this in the DR.
I know there are in the US. You don't want to submit a paper fingerprint application (using ink fingerprints) as I have heard it takes a long time.

I found this website
http://www.fingerscan.ca/2160-2/

What you need to do most likely it's get his ink fingerprints done and send them over to these guys (fingerscan.ca). They will do the rest. You just need to figure out where to get these ink fingerprints in the DR. I heard you can get them done in the Police department in Santo Domingo (not any police department, it's THE MAIN police department) .Time to make some calls.

After submitting the RCMP fingerprints does anyone know when you can expect PPR if you have already submitted all other required documents?

Hi everyone !

im new to this site as I was looking for information on a man coming to canada from the DR. I went on vacation in december 2017 in punta cana and we met and instantly fell in love. we've been talking and texting every day ever since. I plan on going back to visit him soon but I was inquiring about the whole process as well as the costs associating with all this. I'm constantly reading on immigration and work permits. Marriage was also an option but not at the moment as I have been seperated for 3 years now but my divorce isn't final so marriage isn't an option right now. Is there anyone who can give me an insight on how it works and what our options are in the event where we were to get married in the future or if there is a way he can come here any other way. Thank you !

If you are planning to sponsor your partner/boyfriend under the family sponsorship route and don't or can't get married, you can sponsor him as your common-law partner if you can live with him for a minimal period of 1 year, consecutively. Otherwise, you need to get married, so you will have to wait until your divorce is finalized. There are other routes he can apply to come to Canada. Economic streams such as EE or PNP are some options, if he qualifies. If he chooses these routes, he will be trying to come independently of you.

Unfortunately living together is not an option either I have 2 children. I would love to move to the DR but I can't. I did an assessment test for him but he is not a skilled trade worker. He is a high rank manager for a big resort chain and has his GED. I don't know how else to get him here...

Looks like marriage is your only option to get him here. I suggest you review the guide for the application and look at what is required document wise, etc And go from there.

My husband is here on a visitir visa, we met here in canada and got married here as well - you could try and apply for a visitir visa and see how things go living together before marrying him...

Yes that is a good idea. Ive been reading that getting a visitor visa from the DR is very difficult. If i understand correctly you got married in canada while he was visiting? I didnt think that was even possible. I assumed dominicans needed to get married in their country in order for them to leave.
