It does not matter.
All you have to do is apply for extension of your work permit ON the day your work permit expires. If it is expiring on January 30th, then apply for extension on same date ONLY if you dont receive the ITA before your work permit expires.
If you get ITA before your work permit expires then GREAT. If not, just apply for extension. Once you submit your application, you are automatically put on implied status. You can show the confirmation letter as evidence to your employer. That way, you will at least be able to buy more time while continue to work for a few months up till your application gets processed and hopefully during that time period you can get your ITA as well.
Thanks again for your response! Hmmm... I'm not entirely sure i am abe to apply for an extension of my current visa though as it is a working holiday visa for 2 years only. So rather, i need to apply for an open work permit, and it is my understanding that i would need to have an AOR to be able to this. That is why im worried!

Ps. I literally have everything ready for the actual application for PR so i should be able to submit as soon as i get my ITA. And hopefully get an AOR pretty quickly so that i can submit an application for a BOWP. Then i would be on implied status. But time is now very tight!!

I think they already did 2 draws (general category) so no draw today
Going by the books, it will surely be 440+ next week, considering they will do 2 draws next month :mad:

I don't wanna hide my marriage and, of course, I will provide all the information regarding my marriage and my wife.
I just want to answer "No" when they ask if your spouse will come with you in Canada. So, IMHO, that means they are not going to process her PR, just mine.
My idea is to sponsor her once I get the PR.
Am I wrong?
I don't think so. Because of two reasons -
1) Everyone can do what you have described to "gain" more points and easily sponsor for spouse.
2) During profile creation you have to mention what your wife did in last 10 years and where. So if you're don't gonna lie then they will come to know that your wife is in Canada already and you're trying to gain points. On top of that, you need to provide UCI of your wife's status (WP/VR) which depicts that your wife is in Canada.

If you want to lie about everything than it would be a pretty huge risk and application might get rejected. Or even worse when you apply for your wife sponsor they will come to know that your wife was here already and you didn't posted correct details and sponsorship would be rejected.

It's like getting stuck in a bog. I'm not trying to scare you just posting some of the reasons why it could land into jeopardy.
Rest is upto you \m/

A little more persistence, a little more effort, and what seemed hopeless failure may turn to glorious success

This is my journey from CRS 345 to CRS 440...
Today i got the precious ITA...

So guys do not loose hope, just try to improve your CRS score..( especially if your CRS score under 400s)
if you want it, stay hopeful, you will get it.
345 to 440 ? How did you do it - thats a steep jump !

The strategy which you are trying to utilize is, and even the person with the lowest level of knowledge on Immigration will know, is to circumvent the current process, lie and gain "extra" points. Do understand that the moment CIC smells something fishy, your file will go into the Extra Security Scrutiny queue and worst case, you would be banned (for 5 years) due to misrepresentation. I do not understand why people want to find shortcuts when most are opting legitimate ways to gather their PRs. At the end of the day, its your file and you are free to do whatever you see fit with it. Good luck.

Hey guys! I'm catching up on posts now, including reading some of the exchanges with @vensak. @vensak while you do make some valid points here and there, and I fully agree with you that we all need to learn as much as possible about Canadian language and culture before immigrating to Canada, I think you also have a lot to learn about Canadian language and culture. Canadians tend to be nice and friendly overall. The culture is progressive. It is more of a culture of helping each other, embracing diversity, and being kind and respectful to others. While there certainly are mean and closed-minded Canadians, they are in the minority.
if you had read all his post, you would have already include him in that "minority".;):p

I'm a little more than a month away from starting my Canadian master's degree for 30 points :) I signed a lease on a place, and it's all real now. By this time next year, I hope to have an Ontario nomination.
we would have already laid out a huge welcome board for you :):)

Quite a love hate relationship we all have got going with the CIC. They sure know how to keep us all on our toes :)
Since June CIC has become pretty unpredictable the moment we start new hopes it shocks us with no draw or unexpected rise in crs:(:(:(
Time is not the constraint. We can wait longer too if we are assured that something good is going to happen. But whenever we start thinking positive, situations like these come up and shake our hopes.
Patience guys...2018 should be promising unlike the last quarter of 2017:oops::oops:
