I am planning to send my application on Nov 30 and I realized I am going on vacation leaving on Dec 14 and returning on Dec 29 to Canada.

1. Do I need to update this to CIC?
2. How do i do it if I dont have a AOR?

2. Since you don't, the question is irrelevant.

If you actually MOVED to a different country, you'd have to inform them. But even in that case, there is not really anything you can do before AOR.

Yes, declare it. There is no perfect wording. Just describe what this trip was. These are humans reading your application.

Actually when I tried entering the info, I couldn't select Canada as the destination country. The dropdown menu does not have Canada in the list of countries. I was not sure if I should select USA as the destination country. I didn't even have US visa at that time, so I am not even sure if flag-poling is considered entering USA. Can you please help in this regard. Is writing USA in the destination field OK ?

Yes, update IRCC.

The following is from IRCC's site (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/become-after.asp) :

While we process your application, only contact us if you:

• change your address
• are charged with a crime
• plan to leave Canada for more than two weeks in a row

I was employed as a full-time employee at first and then made freelance a few months later because of less work. I don't have a company registered under my name and have not worked freelance ever since. I did mention the cash when I filled in my tax documents for 2014 and I can see that it is filed under GROSS BUSINESS INCOME (Line 162). Would this be considered self-employed for question 11?

Quick question...

Say I started a job in 2012/02. When I put in the dates for employment and residences, should I write 2012/10 in the "From" field (the start of the eligibility period), or provide the entire time I have been employed or living at that residence?

Yes, you were self-employed for that period. You don't need to have incorporated a business to be considered self-employed. In fact, from the way you filed your taxes, you listed this income as business income. That is the correct way to do it.

Self-employed simply means that you bill someone for your services as your own business. If, on the other hand, you are employed, you are getting paid by that company and usually receive a T4 for your income.

- Yes, list the flagpoling. You left Canada that day. In fact, one cannot land at the land border without leaving Canada. Sure you weren't admitted to the US, but that doesn't mean that you didn't leave Canada. You left it.
- List the US as the destination country
- List in the reason field that you were flagpoling to land as a PR. Also state that you didn't seek admission to the US since you don't have a US visa.

Yes. Unless you wife employs you in the form of an employment contract and pays you a monthly, T4-able wage. Which I guess she doesn't.

Home address: Yes.

Contact: For self-employed, N/A is fine. But it can't hurt to list her as a contact.

Also: I recommend going on strike until she pays you a monthly wage

Hi @spyfy. For the physical presence calculator, I have entered all the dates correctly, however the number of days are not matching the dates eg from October 1 to October 20 I was out of the country, but the number of days that was automatically populated is 9.5 instead of 18 days! Has this happened to anyone else, is it okay to send it in even with the incorrect # of days even though I have the correct dates submitted??
