Hi,

Sorry your mother-in-law was refused twice.

1. Which refusal boxes were checked this time?

2. When did she apply for the first time?

3. What was the purpose of her visit and for how long did she intend to visit?

4. What ties did she demonstrate to her home country?

Cheers

I think GCMS notes are not required in her case. I suggest you ask your mom-in-law for the refusal reasons + the details which I had mentioned in my previous post.

I read in your other thread that VFS had returned your mom-in-law's property papers, etc. If that's the case, it would explain why she was not able to prove her strong ties

Please advise what to prepare and reapply again to convince the VO
The VO refusal reasons the following are:

You have not satisfied me that you would leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident. In reaching this decision, I considered several factors, Including:
1) Family Ties in Canada and in Country of Residence
2) Length of proposed stay in Canada
3) Personal assets and financial Status
I am not satisfied that you have sufficient funds, including income or assets, to carry out your stated purpose in going to Canada or to maintain yourself while in Canada and to effect your departure.

You have not provided sufficient documentation to support your/your host's income and assets.

In making decision on an application,a number of factors are considered .These may include but are not limited to:
The information in the travel and identity documents;
2) The reason for the travel to Canada;
3)the person,s contact in Canada;
4)the person's ties to his/her country of residence(including immigration status,employment and family ties)
5) the person,s ablility to pay for the trip and to support him/herself while in Canada;
6)whether the person is likely to respect the condition of his or her admission to Canada;
7) Wether the person in inadmissible to Canada, and wether the person would be likely to leave Canada at the end of his/her authorized stay.

these things help -
- affidavit showing she owns immovable assets (real estate, etc).
- if she has a job, then letter from employer that she is permanently employed
- if she is involved with some organizations (volunteer work, etc), then a letter from them to prove ties
- anything to show that she has reason to go back
- ownership of vehicle, etc. less helpful but still
- return tickets
- funds of $10,000. this can be your funds and you need to write a letter that you are sponsoring
- letter of invitation from you to her
