Hello Everyone,
Its my first time on here and I am hoping I can find answers to what am looking for.
I have recently received an email from the Embassy that they are ready to print my wife's Visa and that I have 30 days to send her passport to UAE for issuing. We are applying from the states! and I was required to send either an Aramex airway bill or a self-addressed C4 or C5 envelope! both of which can't be obtained from the USA! or at least thats what I was told when I went to UPS, USPS and FedEX. I tried making an online account with Aramex but wasn't able to because I don't have an address in the UAE! after 3 days of absolutely no luck I just put an empty envelope with our return address inside with all the required documents with a letter explaining what happened and a copy of my credit card and drivers license which was delivered to the embassy 1/31/2016. We have not yet heard anything back! I wanted to email them this morning but I thought I'd ask around first before I do. any ideas or suggestions? much thanks

Hi folks,

I just submitted my passport to a VFS centre here in Dubai. They charged me a ridiculous AED 162 for administrative fees and sending it to the Canadian embassy in Abu Dhabi. Anyways, any idea how long is it taking these days on average for the Canadian embassy in Abu Dhabi to stamp the PR sticker on to it? The e-mail I got says 10 days processing time +/- 5 days for delivery from the day the receive the passport.

Any one had any recent experiences with this?
How many days did it take for stamping?

I got PPR on Feb27. Submitted Passport to ADVO on same day. No news since.

Issue is that I am on UAE grace period till 15th of March, because i got my visa cancelled on 15th Feb. After that, I will have to start paying fines for overstaying. My new company has processed my new UAE visa but I need the passport back from ADVO for stamping!

Hi everyone. This thread seems quite quiet these days. Tell me guys.....do you all resign and cancel your UAE resident visas before moving over to Canada on PR or you can just go without canceling the visa? Are there any future problems or legal issues involved if you move without canceling??

If you are on an employment contract and are sponsored by your company, you will have to resign, cancel the employment contract and residence visa. Or else, you could be reported as absconding and will have problems for future visa applications.

And I certainly don't have to mention about closing of bank accounts and credit cards and paying of any other loans / debts here. That can certainly lead to serious problems.

Hello dearest friends!

Its been awhile since my last post in here. I have been very busy juggling work and personal matters like most of us here, if not all of us. So please accept my apologies if I can no longer reply to queries here in our forum as well as the private messages you sent.

Anyhow, I hope all is well with your respective applications. My warmest congratulations to those who have received their visas and good luck to those who are still in the waiting game! Don't worry as long as you have read and submitted all the required info and documents, you will eventually get your visa. So just keep praying and everything will be fine, in God's perfect time!

Speaking of God's perfect time, recently my family and I safely landed in the land we've been dreaming about --- CANADA! We became PR on 27th March.

We had our landing in Edmonton, Alberta. Everything went smooth as there were no long queues in Edmonton. The landing process took approx 30 minutes for us, a family of 4. No hard questions. So when your time comes, just relax and enjoy the moment. ;)

Upon reaching the airport, at the border control, I informed the immigration officer that we are new immigrants so she told us, "Okay, please go directly to the luggage area, get your stuff and proceed to the office to your right. I'll wait for you there so we can process your PR." Then the rest as you know is history. ;D

GOD is so GREAT folks! Thank you LORD! :)

Hi Friends,

Urgent Help!

I am a newbie in this forum.

It is going to be one month now. I have submitted my passport for PR visa stamping on 01/05/17. No updates since then. I have submitted thru VFS, Oman and it is still showing as in process at Canadian Embassy, Abu dhabi.

I am really worried. Is it normal that they take so much time to process?

Thanks

Hello, I have also submitted my passport thru VFS Qatar on April 30, 2017. The tracking website is still showing that my passport is being processed in the Canadian embassy in Abu Dhabi. I was hoping to have it processed within 4 weeks as the PPR letter stated, but unfortunately that's not the case...
