Welcome on board :D will suffer this through together
Thanks hahah
So if you don't mind answering, why was your application returned? I am a little scared this could happend to me as my husband income is not very high and we're living with his parents until I can have my OWP and we needed letter from his parents saying this as we didn't have any other documents saying we live together (we called the immigration and they told us to do this).

There were 3 reasons why:
1. IMM1344 wasn't signed in two places inside the application (not at the end). I don't know the reason why I missed it, but probably because first I had gathered all together and then we signed the forms; I simply missed it. It's common mistake amongst ppl which caused CIC to update this form and add some sort of picture of the human hand towards signature fields in this form. Special for idiots like me :D
2. I don't know if I understood it correct, as IRCC didn't send me precise instructions what to fix but clues in document checklist. They highlighted bulletpoints in this list and you can only guess what could go wrong.
I assume, I did not attach a certified copy of my Birth Certificate, I was quite sure that certified translation with attached copy of it made by certified translator agency is more than enough. And unfortunately it didn't work.
3. They also highlighted "Proof of Relationship" first bullet after you say "Yes" we live together. They wanted more documents like joint bank accounts, joint utility accounts and etc.
For second submission we printed out everything all over again, refreshed dates and signed every freaking form. I certified copies of Birth Certificate and my Workbook (requirements for my country) just in case they might need this too. I have gathered joint cohabitation proof as much as possible on top of that I had sent previously and attached Explanation Letter towards each bullet explaining why I can or can not provide some doc-s and what alternative I have to offer. I wrote it from third person just it to be clear.
...And now I am freaking out that they might find smth else wrong cause it certainly would be another person who is checking my application.

About the birth certificate, I had the same question and I called them and they said the translation is enough, as the translator put a copy of it saying she certified that's the truth copy. But I think that depends on the person who's gonna make the analysis of the application. About the signatures, I checked many times, I hope it's all good!
And good luck for you this time, hope everything goes well to everyone :)

Yeah it always depends on someone who's going through your papers. Never know the outcome. When i was sending it the second time I had a tought to add some sort of courtecy letter to butter them up a bit but changed my mind in the last moment.

About low income - it's fine as long as hes not a bankrupt or receives welfare. The lvl of the income only matter if sponsor sponsoring parents or other dependents.

Thank you for your support! Fingers crossed!

Mine was returned because I submitted the translation of my Birth Certificate being done by a translator from India, and they wanted it to be done by a CIC Certified Translator.
Also, there was some error in the Generic Application Form

Everyone is different. Some ppl get it right away. Some ppl don't. All depends on how complicated your app is and who is working on your file.

I sent my Schedule A and pc c April 20. They started my background check April 27 and still in process

Hi there,

I have two quick questions.

I'm a Canadian citizen who obtained citizenship through my father. He applied for my citizenship while we were living in Jamaica, and I got it without having been a permanent resident or landed immigrant in Canada.

On the document checklist it asks whether I was sponsored for permanent residency, and if so, to put in the name of the Sponsor. Since I wasn't "technically" sponsored for PR, do I still say yes and put his name in?

Also, on the Application to Sponsor Item 7(c) asks whether my name was different at the time at which I became a PR. Do I fill out that section as well?

Would appreciate any feedback!

Thanks a lot :)

Somebody correct me if I am wrong but it seems to me that you became canadian citizen by birth, ie if he is your blood father, and he is a canadian citizen then despite the place of your birth you are canadian, hence you have never been sponsored.

I believe this field would become gray after you have checked box: never been sponsored. Although they might ask if you changed it at all once in your lifetime. If you did then say "yes" and next field ask you to declare your "old" name (maiden for example).

Hello everyone,

Any in-land applications from Quebec?
Hello,Arminmor!!! I applied on March 3rd , inland from Quebec as a spouse of Canadian citizen. On March 7 they received it.
March 22 they asked me to linked it online.
March 24 I linked it after 100 tries...
March 27 I recieved an email saying " Dear......
This is an automated system generated letter to acknowledge the receipt of your application. Your application has been assigned the unique file number indicated at the top of this letter. All your correspondence with this office should refer to that unique file number.
This confirms that your application for Permanent Residence under the Spouse or common-law partner in Canada class has been received by
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) on 07/03/2017."

Since then , no new message on the account page for additional documents even if in the Guide 5289 says "
After linking your application, check right away to see what else we need to process your application. Everyone will find at least two
requests in their account:
a request to complete and submit a background information form, known as Schedule A.
a request to submit police certificates."

On May 8 I received by post my open work permit but still no letter/mail for the selection certificate of Quebec.
That's my update until now ,how about you?

manitsa,

check through eCAS. There you would probably see that a notice saying they sent you correspondence shortly after you linked your application online. This is most likely the request for Schedule A and police certificates. Looks like you havent gotten anything yet so it would be best to call IRCC or open a Case Specific Enquiry.

Hi everyone, I submitted my application on May 9 and it got there the next day. But I am yet to receive any form of acknowledgement from IRCC. Is this normal?
