I never called them as I was sure that my finger prints will be accepted. I sent them five sets.
Oh ok. I just want to call them and check when they are mailing out the result so that I can decide whether to send my application with or without it.

Hi,

Package delivered - 20-Jan-2017
CC Charged - 17-Feb-2017

Called the FBI today. They are processing the packets received on 23-Jan, so she said mine if the prints were good should have gone thru. She checked my report and told me that my report was successfully processed yesterday 05-Mar-2017 and they typically ship it out in 2 biz days i.e. 07-Mar-2017. She then said since I am on the phone she would like to confirm the shipping address. I confirmed the same. She told me to look out for a large gold envelope. She then told me they are in WV and from there to my ship to address in GA should be around 4-5 days.

Just to be double sure I asked the lady if by successfully she meant that my fingerprints were good and report is good. She said yes.

So unless something goes horribly wrong I should get my report delivered to the shipping address by Tuesday tops.

Guys, Everyone report your dates on this tracker. It is much easier than sifting through this long thread (copy link and delete the spaces):

Just an update, I called FBI this morning and the customer care lady advised me that they have finished processing the package received on Jan 23rd. Since my package was delivered on 25th Jan(she confirmed this as well), she asked me to call back at the end of the week. She would then be able to advise when the report is going to be mailed out and if the finger prints were okay.

I am planning to call them next Monday.

The whole topic of FBi channeler vs Direct from FBI was relevant in the days when physical copies used to be mailed / had to be scanned. FBI used to print their documents on a special paper with security features and watermarks. As a channeler provides soft copies(pdfs), applicants ran into the issue of not having the security paper to print them on.

Now, FBI provides and I quote "Your results will be provided on standard white paper and returned to you by First-Class Mail via the U.S. Postal Service". You can check this on FBI's website here https://www.fbi.gov/services/cjis/identity-history-summary-checks.

So if you were to use a channeler and print their pdf on a heavy stock white paper, there is no difference between that report and the report that comes from FBI without a channeler. Plus, you only have to upload it now.

To use channelers or not these days remains a matter of conscience more than the end result.
If anyone nows something I don't, please let us all know
In first place, why would someone want to try channeler route when FBI site clearly mentions that the service is for PRs and citizens? How the report appears is not in question at all as one is not supposed to take that route that they aren't entitled to.

Is it that everyone sends >1 fingerprint sets to FBI to be safe. I only sent one :(, however I got it done at a fingerprinting service location with rolled ink. I got my app delivered on Feb 13th, CC is not charged yet.

I received my report today. My timeline:

FBI received: January 18,2017
CC charge: February 17,2017
Report ready: March 5, 2017
Report mailed: March 7,2017
Report received (within US) : March 9, 2017

I sent only one fingerprint for myself and spouse. I sent both application in same envelope with credit card authorization for $36. Fingerprint was a livescan print taken at local US police station.

kewl! So apparently they took more time to process your file but less time to deliver. But all in all 50 days is not bad at all!

What is the normal procedure. My application is delivered on 13-FEB-2017. My CC is not charged yet. I called up FBI Customer Care and they told me they are currently processing 06-FEB-2017. Is it like once they pick 13-FEB-2017 applications my CC will be charged or Credit card charge is done irrespective of when the processing starts?

After approx 1 month of receiving the application they open it and charge cc. Then about 2 weeks later they process your application. And then within a week they mail out results.

Thanks for the response Tatya_Vinchu. Does it mean that since they are still processing 6th Feb they did not open my packet and hence they did not charge my CC.
