Hello,
please do advise on the following situation.
We are planning on starting the sponsorship application for my mother. Being a sponsor myself I have a zero income as I don't work. My husband co-signs my sponsorship application. What should I submit as a proof of financial support for the application? Is it possible to submit just my husband's financial paperwork and send nothing of mine as I do not have neither Option C Printout or any business owned - I am a housewife and it's my husband who owns all the business.
Thank you in advance.

You need to include a letter explaining why there is no Option C printout for you -- that you don't have any income.

thank you for your reply. I do understand about letter with explanation, the only thing that bothers me is that in the checklist they ask me to provide the proof of income - that I cannot do, so if I do not put a check on those items of checklist - will they deny my application? my co-signer gives them all the needed financial info, but not me.

I'm pretty sure that the whole idea of a co-signer is that the two of you together will supply the needed income. Can anyone confirm this?

Hi There,

On the checklist there are separate boxes for each of you, the sponsor and co-signer to check off. Only check off what your actually submitting because if you check boxes where nothing is submitted, officer reviewing application will be looking for information not present.

I believe on the checklist:

Question 17 you both check off each of your boxes. You for submitting explaination of why you have no Option-C print out and your husband for submitting an Option-C print out.

Question 18 you leave it unchecked and your co-signer checks off his. You leave it unchecked as you have no evidence to provide and your husband checks box because he will have evidence from business for last 12 months.

best of luck!

Am i understanding you correctly that your husband just sponsored you or is he going to be a co signer on your moms app?Because there is a rquired income for him to make and the more dependants you have the higher the required income. So it is his income that they will judge if he makes enough.

you mean that will work even if the main applicant has a zero income? I just need to be definite.

thank you for your reply. are you sure that a letter of explanation will do instead of the Option C Printout and needs to have the check-off of the question 17? I don't want them mistakenly think that I submit the Option C.

yes, he has enough income to prove the required income for the application.

Im not sure really on this you need a VIP to answer your question cause i thought the priciple applicant had to have the income.

the matter is that in our family only my husband works, I am the one who looks after kids and my husband's parents, that's why my personal income is zero.

Well ill tell you what, apply the worse than can say is no.But you will never knowtill you try.

thank you. I guess that's the only way we can do now.

Could you please clarify who is doing the sponsoring. Are you sponsoring your mother with your husband co-signing to meet the minimum income requirements?

If so, you having zero income and your husband being a co-signer with all the income will be sufficient for immigration as long as all other requirements other than income requirements are met by you and your co-signer (husband). Immigration officers will be looking to ensure that the sponsor and co-signer can both combined support the sponsored person. Purpose of co-signers is to assist main sponsor in meeting sponsorship requirements. Co-signers share the responsibility to the sponsored person and commit to providing for them too.

Just be sure to include all document requirements requested for you and your husband. Not having an Option C is okay for yourself, because an explaination is what they require to explain why it was not included and you explained it quite well here. Your husband will have one so income requirement should be met.

Although if you did file an income tax for 2009, I would suggest regardless of what was shown as income, get the Option C to submit with your application.

:)

thank you for your reply.
in answer to your question - I am a sponsor, my husband is a co-signer. I sponsor my Mother but i do not have any income as I do not work minding all the household and kids. I haven't filed my income tax for 3009 yet, as mu landing was done on the 1st of December 2009 and I don't know whether I need to file it just for a month in 2009.
we are including the explanation letter to our sponsorship application about option C printout. hope it will work.
