Deal all,

After a long wait, it all came to an end, yesterday, when I received the Visa/CoPR by mail. I'm very glad that it's all over now. I wish the very best of luck to everyone who'r waiting. I wish for them that the wait will come to an end one day soon. Thanks all for help and support; Happy holidays friends.

Toledo.

congratulations, toledo! have a great holiday season!

Thanks everyone for support. I guess christmas's come early for me, this year :D I wish every one of you best of luck, one more time and happy holidays.

Congratulations! can you please share the time lines and also let me know if your application processed smoothly after the submission or you were asked to provide more information or had any objections. Which visa office you were in contact with? This would be hlepful for the people who are in process of applying.

Congrats...thats great news!! What are the time lines?? And what visa office were you at??

Sure Amatullah, and Selena,

Application sent, first to CPC, Mississauga, (Can't remember the exact date, it was long time ago ;-)) sometimes June 2008.
Application was approved sometimes mid-July 2008.
Application sent to Buffalo, NY visa office late July 2008
I was asked to provide some supporting documents sometimes on October 2008
Application was in progress ever since
Emailed few times Buffalo, NY visa office, the reply I got back, was that they are doing background check and couldn't tell me when the application would be finalized, Basically, the application was in progress since July 2008.
November 09, I got email request to submit passprot for visa issuance.
Passprot submitted early December 09.
Visa/CoPR/all supporting documents, i.e. photoes, letters etc... received mid-December 09.

Sorry, the dates are all approximate, and not the exact ones, I've always been a lousy book-keeper.

So, you can see that my case took well over a year (16 months) to be finalized, which is beyond the Buffalo visa office's time-line. I've seen cases--in this forum--that were finalized within few months at Buffalo visa office. I guess it all depends on each cases.

I hope this helps.

Thanks guys and God bless.

that was a long way, toledo, but it was worth waiting! congratulations again! happy holidays!

Congratulations on being finished with your long journey towards permanent residency. Good luck in the future and Merry Christmas! :)
