I applied with Arranged employment,I have a job offer from Canada,I am married and we both are from Iran but we are living in UK and I sent my application to London Office.
this is my status:

We received your application for permanent residence on November 1, 2010.

We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on February 18, 2011 to ..................,.... Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us. If we have sent the letter to the wrong address, please contact us.

Your application was reviewed and we started processing on March 7, 2012.

For how long should we wait to receive our Medical exams and finally decision????
Please some one help me.
Thanks.

Have you requested your CAIPS/GCMS notes?

If not, you should. Since you are outside Canada, you may wish to use a separate service (or if you have an attorney or consultant they can request them.)

Here is one service I've used in the past successfully: http://www.caips.ca

Good Luck!

Thanks for reply,
I have contact with Canada high Commission's in London and they answered:
"Lengthy background checks are in process for this application." (March 2012)
I don't know how long Background Check takes.
This is more than 6 month.

My guess is that background checks for individuals from Iran are time-consuming because of the status of diplomatic relations between Canada and Iran at the present time, but it would really just be speculation.

The computer notes for your file would provide greater insight, but if I had to guess, CIC is waiting for CSIS. http://www.csis-scrs.gc.ca

Note that you also have the right to obtain notes from CSIS, which is likely to give you greater insight into what CSIS is doing about your background check. The visa office is most likely to just provide a generic response, such as what you received.

Good luck!
