This may be a long shot, but was wondering if there would be any point in sending a letter to the VO explaining that we have had very little file movement in 10 months.

You certainly can write a letter. But because you are well within the processing time, you will get a standard reply. Can't imagine it will push the process of your file. What you can do is to order GCMS notes to see what stage you are at.

You can send a note/letter through IRCC webform. If you have not gone past 12 months in processing they might not respond to you. But it was s worth a shot to at least give them a nudge to start looking at your file again.
