Hello,

My Multiple TRV expires in 2022.
My Post-Graduate Work Permit (PGWP) expires in 2021.

I left Canada mid-June 2018 and I got a tempting job offer outside of Canada which I'm thinking of taking, but I don't want to lose my status in Canada should I decide to come back later.

My question is, would my TRV expire if I stayed outside of Canada for like 2 years from 2018 to 2020?
Would I be denied to enter if I stay outside for so long (2 years) even though I came back around 2 years before my TRV expired? As mentioned above, it expires in 2022.

Thanks!

Answer is no given you have both a valid PGWP and a TRV so no reason to expect to be denied if you came back in 2020. Of course you will as a temp resident still be subject to assessment but no reason to see why you should be refused entry accepting of course nobody represents CBSA.

Thanks for answering :).

On my TRV it says "student" but I graduated this year in May.
I got my PGWP this year in July.
Do you know if I'll need to change my TRV to get a "worker" TRV?
