I initially started my application for common-law sponsorship back in June, 2012, through the States. In January of this year, I received a request for initial documents (RCMP records check and Right To Permanent Residency fee), which I completed and sent in the documents late January of this year. Since then it's just been a waiting game, as usual.

Today I received an e-mail requesting payment of the right to permanent residency fee, and that the original request for this document was e-mailed to me on Feb 11, 2013, and that this was the last time they would be requesting it.

I'm seriously confused because 1.) I paid the fee, and submitted the receipt. 2.) I never received another request in Feb, there's absolutely nothing from them in my inbox, junk box, nothing. I've received e-mails from them before, but never another one requesting proof of payment. So it can't be that they had the wrong e-mail address. 3.) Is it a typical occurrence that they lose documents? I'm seriously lost here.

I'm glad I kept copies, and I can easily resubmit, I'm just annoyed that it's going to add even more time to processing my application.

CIc gets confused sometimes. Just write back, and explain that you never received the second email, and you're not sure it belongs to your case as you have already paid the RPRF, and add the proofs.

Did you send your receipt to Mississauga ? because if you send it only to your VO, it's not enough. It has to be sent to MIssissauga, who then can match your file number and your receipt. Then they inform the VO that the payment is complete, and the VO can proceed with your application.

Good luck,
Sweden

Scary indeed... and you are very fortunate. I don't understand how they can screw up something like this and even if they are wrong, I doubt they will tell you that.

Anyway, do as the last poster suggested, attach those receipts.
