hi guys,,i hope someone can help us with our worries before we go ahead and finally submit our app for soponsorhip..

me and my common law partner has been living for a quite a while and decided to do the sponsorship this year,,he is canadian and we are both living in canada for now and we plan to do the app outland as it is more faster as to what i hear and read from all the forums,,

we are in the process of gathering all the info and evidences but one thing that worries us is that my partner who is the sponsor has not filed his tax for 4 years now since his company has been very difficult to work with plus he live in different addresses for the last years of his life,,he had not gotten gst and not filed taxes,,,but he is filing his tax this year with his new job,,

my question is how do we handle this and how do we go through this?.are there any solution to this?
will we be in trouble if my partner has not filed any taxes??

im really confuse...

Good question. My partner hadn't filed taxes for the last 5 years. So we are worried about that, too. No income, which is why.

You will need to explain why you don't have an Option C printout from the most recent tax year, but as long as you satisfy them that your sponsor is not an undischarged bankrupt, nor on any sort of social assistance (except for disability, I'm told), you should be fine.

It would be prudent to include other proof of income, such as pay stubs or income statements if self-employed.

I know this first-hand -- I'm a few years behind on my taxes and yet the sponsorship was approved with the above documentation.

ah okey,,so just attach a letter explaining everything then??
how do we request for the print out C????we are still confuse about the whole application and quite overwhelmed...
thank you very much for your input guys....

I know others have been approved for sponsorship siting things like self employment or disability. I had a friend who cared for their dying parent the year previous so did not work and just explained that and they were approved with no option C.

thanx guys,,

its just that my partner has been living in different addresses for the last 5 years ad only now that he settled here in edmonton thats why he doesnt have his t4's before..,

well we will file his tax this year and see what will happen,,,and hopefully everything will be fix,,

any other couple out there who in in the same situation before but was able to succeed with the application??please i need ur insights,,,

many thanx again guys...

Here is our story, although I don't know if it's successful yet but I hope it helps.

My bf is a self-employed and he had not filed his tax paper around 3 years (2007-2010) before sending the application. So we asked the bookkeeper to catch up for us, at the end, we sent the Option Print C of 2007 with a letter explaining the 2008 is processing in CRA and 2009 will go through CRA soon, we also provided the bookkeeper's contact info to CIC, in case if they want to check we're telling the truth.

We have sent 2009 tax paper 2 months ago and CRA told us we can get the OPC around the middle of April if we want. Therefore, we decided to ask for 2008 & 9 OPC from CRA next month and send it to CIC just in case.

ok thanx guys..we might as well do that then,,
