workpermit and dependent passport expiry

Dear members,

I will be applying for workpermit in the end of January, although my and my wife passport has enough time left but my kids passport would expire in July 2020.

will this effect anyway ?

Are they visa-exempt? Are you applying for study permits for them? They cannot be granted TRVs/eTAs or status in Canada beyond passport expiry, so everything will expire by July.

Get their passports extended before coming to Canada.
