Working while spouse open work permit extension is in processing

Hi,

Myself(open work permit, dependent) and my husband(closed work permit, primary work permit holder) are applying for our respective work permit extensions. Our work permit is expiring in August 2020. We are not sure if we will receive our extensions before August 2020.

Can we continue working while our extensions are in processing? I read that one can work until a decision is made. I want to make sure if that applies to dependents too. Can I continue working until we get our work permits approved?

Is there anything that we should do to continue working in implied status?

Your application is dependent on his application so you should be applying together. Yes you will have implied status if your husband is working in NOC 0, A or B.
