Hello,

This is probably a redundant question, but just wanted to put forth my situation and clarify:
I recently got married and my husband lives in Canada who recently filed for his citizenship. I currently live in the US on H1B.
I asked my employer if I can move to Canada and live with my husband until he gets his Canadian passport to move to the US together and they agreed. The plan is to move in October and we are probably thinking it might take 6 months from then to have everything in hand to move back to the US. My employer stated that they would continue depositing money as US payroll in my US bank account itself. My LCA is tied to the work location and the home office here in the US. Do I need to maintain residency (lease holder) in the US to keep my H1B active or is it fine if I just have residency at my husband's place in Canada?
Any other issues that might affect my H1B?
Your feedback would be great to know

Thanks in advance!

If the final plan is to move back to US, why even move to Canada, when its just for six months?
Like I did, I used to travel sometime weekly sometime monthly to my work worksite in US. You can travel as well, to the worksite on LCA. If your house is convenient to travel to then keep the lease. If you have regular travel pattern on H1b, I havent seen any issues.
