I am student who is willing to study in canda at a college for one year and the rest in a university. So I want to know whether I can get a part time work permit during my college period.
I am in a hurry so can you reply me as fast as possible.

1. Basic answer is yes, 20 hours per week maximum during semesters. 40 hours+ during breaks.

But two of my friends who went to study at a college hadn’t got their part time working permit so what would that reason be.

You don't need a work permit, as a student you are automatically allowed to work 20 hours during school semesters and full time during official breaks. While getting the study permit at the airport make sure it say you are allowed to work at the bottom.
