Hello all,

I am in grade 11 in high school and on my study permit it says cannot work off campus. However online it says can work off campus up to 20 hours if in designated school and my school isn't on there but the colleges are. I was wondering if it was because I was in high school therefore should i apply separately for a work permit, even though I just want to work up to 20 hours... ?
Thank you

You cannot work off campus as a high school student. There is no separate work permit you need to apply for. You're simply not allowed to work.

You can only work off campus as a college or university student.

Just to add - if you go back to the online information you found, you'll see it says that one of the criteria for working off campus is that you must be a post-secondary student or a vocational student. You are currently a secondary school student and therefore don't meet the requirements to work off campus.
