Hi,

I'm currently working around 23-24 hours per week but only getting paid for 20 hours.
I stay to help the staff + learn and do not mind getting paid for only 20 hours. My first pay stub reflected the minimum wage x 20 hours (roughly around $574).
Will I get in trouble for working extra? We do clock in and clock out but I made it clear the rest of the hours are on me as I do appreciate learning and do not want to get in trouble.

Keep it to 20 hours whether it's paid or unpaid.

IRCC will still classify the unpaid hours as work since people are normally paid to do this. Technically you are in violation of the terms of your study permit.

Whether IRCC will find out or not is a different matter. Probably they won't. But why risk your status and future in Canada?
