working in canada

hi,

my husband has taken a program in installing fireplaces in Iran, and has come to Canada to get employment. He doesn't have any experience in the field, so my question is, does he need to take a program in Canada to get a job or can he get employment with his certificate?

I am not an expert but I would think he would have to take another course in Canada if that is what he wants to do. The reason I think this, is because Canada and Iran very likely have different codes and regulations when in comes to fitting things in the home such as fireplaces. But maybe someone with more experience can help you.

Most trades require a red seal certificate.
