I'm an Australian living and working in Canada. I have fully applied for permanent residency and now I'm just waiting to receive it.
My working holiday expires on the 29th of April which will be before my PR is received.
My employer has received a LMIA for me and I've been told I can get a "Bridge Open Work Permit" or something along those lines to stay and continue to work for my employer until my PR comes through.
I'm currently filling out this form (IMM5710E - Application to change conditions, extend my stay or remain in canada as a worker) UU UU UU.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/temp/work/prov/bridging.asp. Is this the only form I need to fill out?
There are a couple of questions that I'm not sure how to answer;
I am applying for one or more of the following:
- A work permit with the same employer (Seems like the best option?)
- An initial work permit or a work permit with a new emplyer
- Restoration of your status as a worker
- Temporary resident permit.
What type of work permit are you applying for?
- Co-Op work permit
- Exemption from labour market impact assessment
- Labour market impact assessment stream
- Live- in caregiver program
- Open work permit (Seems like the best choice?)
- Other
- Post graduation work permit.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
