Hi,

I am an international student and i was on co-op work terms for last 2 semesters. In diploma, you can only do two co-op terms. So, the situations is that my company wants to keep me and also, i want to stay.

I have five courses left to complete my graduation. I want to know if I can work full time in Summer as well as take 2 courses (which makes me part-time) ?

Help appreciated.

It depends if summer is a scheduled break in your program or not.

FYI, co-op work duration must not be more than 50 percent of course duration.

Hi, I was supposed to take co-op but my co-op position was rejected. So, I'll have to take project work i.e 1 course which makes me part-time student I guess. So, can I work fulltime?

Hi,

Having co-op during summer means summer isn't a scheduled break and you can't work full time. Co-op is itself a graded course and you receive credit for it.

Hi J5M,

Thanks for your reply.

No i won't be registered for co-op at university anymore. But, i will work for the same company full-time. So, the question is can i work those full time hours as regular employee as well as take two part time courses?

Thanks,
Navdeep

you can only work full time if you have co-op work permit and co-op is a part of your studies. since co-op is going to be a term itself and I would say not being a part time student unless its your final semester cause cic won't let you be a part time student just cause you want to.
