Hi everyone,

I recently landed in Canada and now waiting for my PR card.

My question is: If I manage to find a job with a Canadian organization (College of north Atlantic) in my home country (or any other country), can I start counting the period working for them towards my 2-year residency requirement? Or is it advisable to move and stay physically in Canada since I am a new immigrant. I only stayed 10 days after my landing.

Please advise
Thanks

No - you won't be able to count the time you are outside of Canada towards PR if you do this.

In order to be able to count the time, you would first need to be hired for a role in Canada and work in that position in Canada for a while before being transferred to a role outside of Canada.

If you are hired for the job outside of Canada directly - then you can't count that time towards PR.
