Hi all. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. I'm registered with the local engineering regulatory body of my home country, and I've been working as what is called a Graduate Engineer for 5 years already. (It is not equivalent to a P.Eng.)

I'm working on my certification application. But at the same time, I've been wondering if there are any cases of PR immigrants being hired to work in engineering related work even before getting certification.

I have checked online, and I'm sure almost everyone knows the "text-book" answer: yes, it is still possible to work as long as a licensed/certified engineer supervises or takes responsibility for it.

Nonetheless, I still would like to know if anyone in here can share his or her experience or information regarding this. Are there any cases where someone has been hired to work in engineering related work even before getting certification/licensing?

Thanks.
