Hi,

I have a LMIA and am working on Canada for an employer.
Can I also do some freelance work? Like 20h/week? How would tax work? (I may pay taxes in the country I am originally from as well)

Also, it is an American company.

I can't find this information on CIC.

Thanks

Does the American company have any Canadian customers / clients or do they do any business with Canadian companies?

They have clients in Canada. However no employee or representation

In that case you cannot freelance for this company on your closed work permit. You would need to obtain a new closed work permit allowing you to work in Canada for this company. Working for them in Canada without a work permit will be classified as working illegally.
