Hello everyone,

I am currently a PR and I am almost done with my time after becoming PR to apply for citizenship. My plan is that, after I apply for citizenship I consider working in another country for couple of years. My question is how realistic it is to work in another country in Europe (a country which accepts RTD but requires visa to enter). Would I ever be able to get "work permit" with my RTD? or RTD is only applicable for touristic purposes! It is much appreciated if you can share your experiences or toughs! Many thanks in advance!

Cheers!

Hi,
It all depends on your host country, I will suggest contacting your host country embassy here in Canada to find out. I personally requested a working visit visa to KSA but my sponsor was asked to request a visa authorization letter from KSA's. I also was able to get a one-year work visa from a country in Africa with my RTD. I always contacted my host country embassy here in Canada to find out.

Good luck!

Thanks for for the advise. If anyone else is wondering, I did a bit more search and apparently, you can specify what type of document you will be using (passport, RTD, etc) for your work permit application, so it appears it is recognized. I will update ab how the application goes
