Hi
I want to apply under Canadian Experience Class as I have two Years study and One year of Work Experience under Noc 2174.During my two years study I got Off campus Work permit
on which we can only work for 20 hours per week. But i got such a job that I had to work two, 12 hour shift for two days. That means i was working 24 hour instead of 20 hour a week.
Will there any effect on my case due to this reason?

Thanks

No, the work you did on an off-campus work permit while in school does not count toward your eligibility requirements.

Thanks or reply. But that was not my question. By question was that we can only work 20 hrs a week but I was working 24 hrs a week under off campus work permit while I was studying.
Can there be rejection because of working 24 hrs a week under Off campus work permit?

They don't necessarily analyze the work you did off campus, so my uninformed opinion would say it is unlikely to affect your eligibility. It would have affected your eligibility to maintain the off-campus work permit, if the CIC knew that you were working beyond the prescribed hours.

Some things are better left in the closet.

hi, jes_ON
Can you tell me after i graduate while i wait for PGWP i work full time under OCWP its 2 months so it will count under 1 year CEC can i submit my file now or not

The CEC guide says work experience obtained under the off-campus work permit can not be counted. So the 1 year experience starts from the day you receive the pgwp.

This question has been debated ~100 times on this forum. CIC does not provide clear guidance. If you can afford to wait the extra 2 months, most suggest counting your time from the date you got your PGWP, just to be safe.

My point being, since this work experience will not be evaluated, I wouldn't worry too much about it.If you have a Letter of Reference for this job (because it was in the past 3 years), and your hours varied, I would say it's OK to average them since it won't count anyway.

But, my question is............is it mandatory to have this letter? I thought that the letter was only to validate our work experience claim. So, if we are not going to use this letter (as it is work performed under OCWP and, usually not NOC 0,A or B) wouldnt it be sufficient to mention it in our history and not provide a letter? I mean, the VO is not interested in any letter that describes a job/internship during our period of study.

it is part of your backgournd. Letters are required for all jobs held in Canada in the past 3 years.
