Work Visa - Is job letter required ?

Hi guys,

i am in my work permit for over an year. i would like to apply for the work visa. i have been working full time for over an year. is it mandatory to have a job letter for applying the work visa, or can i simply apply without a job letter. saying i dont have a job letter. will this effect my PR application, which I am planning to apply next month.. Thanks in advance.
