Hi there,

I am a 22 year old male thinking of potentially immigrating to Canada in the future.

I have no relatives there so I am on my own in this case, I have looked at my options and apparently I am eligible for a Canadian Permanent Residency via the Express Entry if I work in Canada for 2 years or more in a skilled job.

Now, I am currently in a skilled job here in the UK...well I believe its a skilled job as its in the list on the NOC list (Vehicle Insurance Damage Assessor) NOC Code: 1312. I have only been doing it a short time, however I aim to stay in this job for a little whilst not only to get a bit more training but also time to save.

So, to get this 2+ years experience in Canada I therefore need a working permit/visitor visa, do I have to find a secure job first before applying for a work permit or can I apply for a work permit and then travel to Canada to find a skilled job?

After a year I will have to renew my work permit/visitor visa, can I do this whilst in Canada? Or can I get a work permit via my current job in Canada or do I have to come back to the UK for a short amount of time and do it all again getting a work permit & visitor visa.

Once I get 2+ years experience in a skilled job in Canada I should be eligible for Permanent Residency via the Express Entry?

Any help will be much appreciated!
