Hey guys quick question. My work visa expires June 30 and I’m currently still waiting on a new employer job offer. It will hopefully happen this weekend. If I don’t have it by July 1, should I switch to visitor and then reapply for a new visa? Or should I wait until I receive it and then apply to restore my status and for the new work visa at that time (provided it is less than a week, I know you have 90 days to restore but I won’t wait nearly that long)

I would swtich your status to visitor before your current WP expires. Applying for restration is taking a very long time right now. You would be waiting many many months.

You should consider, however, that if you switch to visitor you new work permit application will have to be made 'outside Canada' and it could be a problem to activate your WP if the current border situation continues for any length of time. Either way (restoration or waiting for the border to open) you could be out of work for a while.
