Is Calgary your point of entry or Vancouver? What is the first city you are landing in? That first city is your POE.

im planning on going straight to calgary.because the plane ticket is much cheaper..is it ok if i go directly to calgary.

If you are landing in Calgary then you go through immigration there and get your work permit. Not a problem.
