Hello ,
I need your help to know which way I should go.
I came on an open work permit in January 28, 2022 with my wife who was a student. I worked full time from February 6 to June 30 as a motor technician. After that I worked as a self-employed person from July 1st until now as an amazon deliverer.
My wife obtained her post-graduation work permit on February 14, 2023. My open work permit expires on March 30, 2023. Now my wife is 7 months pregnant so she can't work full time to extend my work permit.
I ask if there is a solution to extend my work permit that will end on March 30, 2023. Or I can apply for residency with the work experience I have.

Your wife must have a skilled job for you to be eligible for SOWP. If she does and has employment letters and pay stubs, you can apply. She needs to show she is eligible to work
  • be authorized to work in Canada for a period of at least 6 months after the family member’s open work permit application is received

If not, you are not eligible.

Self employment doesn’t count for Canadian experience. So if eligible for Express Entry - FSW or a PNP program then do some research.
