Hello

I have been in Canada as temp resident status bit over year now, I was told that I could apply permanent on next year.
I have been applying a job now (I am from Finland) and hoping to settle down here. I might get the job on this month
as stock clerk at clothes shop...which would be my first job in Canada when getting work permit.
What I should know about applying permanent status on next year? Do i need LMIA? I could also start working as security guard after permanent status because I have got the training in Quebec. And starting to study French now again...

Thanks

If you want to work in Canada before you are a PR - then you will need a work permit. To get a work permit, your employer will first need to obtain an approved LMIA.

On what basis (through which program) do you plan to apply for permanent residency? Simply being in Canada as a temporary resident doesn't qualify you for PR. Do you have a Canadian partner you are going to marry or live together for a year to become common law?

Thank you. I have security guard license but have not found the job yet.

I am working now online legally tho, not having a partner yet.
Thank you for information. I need to wait how things are going.
