Work Permit

Hi everyone.

I've been working here since nov, 2009 on a work permit/visa for just one company. So, my permit is not an open one. Unfortunately, i was laid off last monday.
My work permit for that company expires on July, 2013 so as with my travel visa.

My questions are:
1. Is my work permit still valid?
2. Is there a time limit for me to be able to find a new job?
3. Can a skilled worker apply for open work permit? How?
