Work permit while on visitor visa awaiting PR

Hey guys! I’m an Australian citizen and I applied under spousal sponsorship with my Canadian wife on November 30th. It was lodged as an outside of Canada application.
I arrived back in Canada on December 22nd on a six month visitor visa. I’m just wondering how I apply for a work permit while I await the PR application decision? Is there any extra steps needed because I have a PR application lodged?

You need to have AOR before you can apply for the open work permit. See discussions in the family sponsorship section of the forum
