WORK PERMIT WAITING TIME

Hi everyone!

I would like to ask this question I'm waiting for my work permit extension and as of now still waiting for 3 months already. I've forwarded my application "work permit extension" to CIC by mail last Aug 2 and they received it aug 3, 2012. I changed my address last nov 1 so i used to call CIC to change my address fortunately they have not open my file yet . I was waiting for a one week then and my work permit does not come yet then i called to cic again and they said it had already been sent last oct 29 to the new address i gave in. As of now i keep waiting for my mailbox believing it has to be sent in. My old work permit will be expired on nov 16 and I am hoping my new work permit will come so soon and make this process to my current employer.

What can I do to verify my status? Is there any possibility to verify my mail to post office nearby my area or should I verify it again to CIC?

Please help me to solve my weary...Thanks a lot and God bless us all

First thing is don't panic. You're covered by implied status while the application is in process anyway and since you believe it was re-issued it's just a matter of tracking down the document - confirming your status.

I am a bit confused by the dates you were explaining: November 1 you updated your address, but then you were told the work permit was sent to your new address on October 29 - three days before you gave them the new address. Did you arrange for mail forwarding to your new address from your old address or can you check your old address to see if it has been delivered there?

Hi, thank you so much for replying to my query it really helped me a lot to lose my troubled mind. I would like to re-correct the change address i had mentioned on my statement that i have moved Oct 1 not Nov. 1
I really really like and salute this forum that somebody else have really concerned to answer all queries and yet very significance.
